Club Penguin Guide!


Introduction
Welcome to Club Penguin! Club Penguin is a fun online virtual world for children primarialy between the ages of 8 - 14 years old, however, players of all ages are welcome! Club Penguin was released in October  of 2005 and is the largest Virtual World for children on the web! Club Penguin has tons of players and you can always find a crowd on some servers to hang out with. On Club Penguin you can buy clothing, buy an igloo and decorate it, make friends, play mini games and so much more!

-Navigation
The first thing we're going to talk about is navigation. Navigating on Club Penguin is really important because without knowing how to do so, you could be stuck in the same room all day with nothing to do... That wouldn't be fun, would it? To start navigating and moving around on Club Penguin, you're going to need to log on. When you log on - Chances are you will arrive in the Town.

Now that you're logged into Club Penguin, no matter what room you are in, look at the bottom left corner of your screen and you will see a blue map!Once you spot that icon, Click it! It's going to give you the ability to navigate around the island and go to different rooms! When you're on the map and hover over a location, you should be able to see the name of the location. However, If you have trouble doing that - I've labeled the map below for you:


Now you can navigate! The map allows you to explore all around the island from end to end! Have fun waddling around and exploring!

-The Toolbar
While playing Club Penguin, It's really important to understand how to work with the Club Penguin toolbar! The toolbar is located at the bottom center of your screen. This toolbar is going to be something you are working with the majority of the time you play online. The toolbar has many functions which you will have to understand. Let me explain. Below is the toolbar:


On the toolbar each button is labeled by a number to help keep you on track with which button I am speaking about. Below I will explain the function of each button, The button will be titled by it's number shown in the picture and proper name.

Button 1: Chat Button: This button is for pre-typed chatting. In simple words, The messages you want to say are typed out for you already. When you sign up for Club Penguin you have the option to have open moderated chat or ultimate safe chat. Most ultimate safe chat users use this feature.

Button 2: Emotion Icons: Emotes are really important in a game. They help the users express themselves and how they are feel. This button gives users access to a list of emotion icons that they can use while playing.

Button 3: Actions: This button allows you to preform a few actions. Currently this button gives you the ability to dance, sit, or wave.

Button 4: Snowball: This button allows you to throw snowballs at another player! This feature is very handy in all rooms, especially the Snow Forts!

Type Here: Self explanatory - This is where you type your messages. Please note this typing field is not avaible for ultimate safe chat players.

Button 5: Send Message: This button can be used after you are done typing in the field for messages. For faster sending, You can also use the "Enter" button on your keyboard.

Button 6: Your Profile: This button brings up your player card where you can then access your inventory and change your outfit, view your medals, and view your pins.

Button 7: Buddy List: This button will bring up your buddy list which allows you to see all of your buddies and bring up their player card if you click their names.

Button 8: Home: This button will bring you to your igloo.

Button 9: Help: This button will allow you to see information about your penguin, the server you are on, and give you access to Manage your account.

-Player Cards
Player cards are an important feature on Club Penguin. On Club Penguin player cards have two different types of appearance. The first version of the player card is your own player card.

On your player card you can:
  • Your coin count.
  • Your stamp count.
  • Membership Badge Status
  • Your outfit
  • Access your inventory (Clicking on right side, indicated in picture above by red circle)
The second type of player card  is another penguin, other then yourselves, player card.
On another penguins player card you can:
  •  Add / Remove penguin. (Button 1)
  • Find where they are, if they are online and you're buddies with them. (Button 2)
  • Visit their igloo, if you're buddies with them. (Button 3)
  • Send the player a postcard! (Button 4)
  • View the players stamp collection. (Button 5)
  • Ignore the player (Button 6)
  • Report the player (Button 7)
  • -Earning Coins 
    On Club Penguin you are going to need coins to buy items for your player and your igloo. There are several ways that you can earn coins on Club Penguin:
    • Unlock a Coin Code! When you unlock a coin code on Club Penguin, You get some awesome items from the treasure book, but you also get some coins!
    • Unlock a book! When you unlock a book on Club Penguin, You get a blue book hand item, but you also get some coins!
    • Playing games! When you play games on Club Penguin - You get coins!

    -Tour Guide, EPF Agent, Ninja 
    On Club Penguin, Players can become Tour Guides, Elite Penguin Force Agents, and Ninjas! Need help becoming on of these? If so, I've made guides on all of these and can explain to you how to become one of these!

    -Parties and Mascots!
    Almost every month the Club Penguin team puts together parties for everyone on the island to enjoy! These parties usually contain a lot of decorations which can sometimes make rooms appear to be a completely different place then your use to. At some of the big events on Club Penguin, Mascots will come to join in on the fun! Some of the well known mascots are Rockhopper, Aunt Arctic, The Penguin Band, DJ Cadence, Gary and Sensei.
